Excellent Recipe forCaramelized Pear and Bread Pudding

Pears are wonderful this time of year, at least in North America where I live.  They make an excellent addition to this superb bread pudding recipe. The top of the pudding is a sweet caramelized sauce over lightly browned pears. The pudding part is a rich bread custard with rum soaked raisins. This dessert is an excellent choice for special company dinners.
