An Authentic Recipe for Armenian Easter Bread

I've just published a recipe for authentic Armenian Easter bread. It's delicious and well worth making from scratch.

This bread requires a spice called Mahleb. Mahleb should not be omitted, as its flavor is critical to the bread's success. This spice can be difficult to locate but its sold on Amazon.

Recipe for Carrot Corn Muffins

I've just added a recipe for Carrot Corn Muffins on the best bread recipes site.  Carrot muffins are a healthy way to start the day.

Did you know that the carotine in  raw carrots is absorbed  only by 3%?  When the carrots are cooked, this goes up to 39%.  And here I've been eating raw carrots every day thinking I was getting the best benefits.

Serve Canadian Beaver Tails at your Olympic Celebrations

The world's eyes are on Canada these days, thanks to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

Whey not serve Canadian Beaver Tails at your Olympic parties and celebrations. These treats are a type of donut -- fried yeast dough that is shaped like a beaver tail and then dipped in sugar, chocolate or some other yummy topping.

Recipe for Onion Rosemary Focaccia Bread

Onion Rosemary Focaccia Bread is a delicious flatbread.

Focaccia bread originated in Italy, where it is still a highly popular snack for children and adults alike. The original flatbread was usually seasoned with olive oil and herbs. Today, various vegetables, cheeses and salts are often added to enhance the flavor of this recipe.

Try it with soup or salad. It makes a great, light meal.

Made with yeast and topped with tender, cooked red onions, this recipe is a keeper. It takes only twenty minutes or so to bake, and requires only one rising.

The recipe for this Onion Rosemary Focaccia flatbread is at this link.

Gaboobo Bread Recipe

I've added another bread recipe courtesy a site visitor, Gerald L. Birk. Gaboobo bread is native to the the Sioux Indians of South and North Dakota. It's another quick bread, and delicious when eaten hot with butter. Or, to be traditional, serve it with wosapi, a berry sauce made from chokecherries. Follow the title link to view the recipe.

New Recipe: Bannock

I've just uploaded a recipe for Bannock -- the quickbread favored by aboriginal people in North America. I understand that Scottish and British settlers made a version of bannock as well, but this recipe is specific to the North American Indian version. Click on the title to view the recipe.
